One Rainy Sunday Geocaching!

It was a GREAT rainy Sunday to go caching. We have figured out that there are alot of caches on the bike trail and we can hardly wait to get out there. The first one we found in the RAIN! Did I mention that Savannah went with us?????? :)
Crow's Nest

Pit stop for Savannah to eat and get a snack in Sesser!!

Then off to Foremast! We actually got this one as we drove around Rend Lake making up our minds that all the caches were on the BIKE TRAIL! lol

Anchor was next. We did see lots of turkeys this trip!! This was a good hint and Doug got it right away, but I was looking for a cabin....LOL.... Lincoln Logs!! :)

It was in that LOG!
Then we headed home because Ryan said that Savannah was ready...LOL and Ryan was out of something to drink!! LOL

Then we made a quick stop to get Aftcastle but did not find :( Mainmast

That is all for the day!!!! It was really fun!!!

Another wonderful Sat Geocache! (SPOILER ALERT!)

We had a great time today! First we had lunch at Ryan's for Tyler's birthday! Then we went to capture the first Cache! It was a little tough!! Real tree means REAL TREE!!!
Home Improvement on the Range

We went to WalMart for Ty's present and then to Dunham's for Ry's soccer shoes and then we were off for the WHOLE DAY! It was great! We headed to Opdyke to get B-Lo #1 , but we did not attempt because there was a function going on at the church and we did not want to intrude. So then, we headed out through the Amish country of Jefferson County!! We say lots of Amish folk and beautiful Amish homes. I never realized how odd it is to not have power lines going to your house! Just pick a spot and build!!! The discussion was "Is there water?" I think yes....I will have to research that! (no Amish pictures, ya know!)
On to the next Cache! B-Lo #2

Yep...in THERE!!! Could have been a spider, but he braved it and took it out!! He traded a golf ball for a tiny bowling set! Mom traded a horse for a bug!

Cache Critters, Neigh Geocoin for Dorothy's Whirlwind Tour - part 1 of 3 (Dorothy)

Next we headed to Deadlights.... DNF! We think it is GONE...GONE!!! Uggh - But is was our first MOGA hides a try! http://www.mogageo.com/Joomla1.5/ Did love the Grasshopper hitching a ride!

Sooooo after searching and searching, we decided it was missing (note the logs I did not look at before making the trip to the boondocks) and off we went!
Gangplank was next!!! Way off the beaten path and a beautiful home too!!!

Then we stopped at Scuppers. Doug went out and found this one. No poison ivy for this girl...LOL I wish! :)

You will notice that we have not seen very many BOYS in these pictures... they were sitting in the van playing with their toys....LOL!
(insert pitstop and food at Ina!)
Over the interstate and on to Rend Lake! Rudder

Yardarm was next!!!

We then headed out to Wayne Fitzgerrell Cache.
It was soaked. Left a new log book!

A Place For Bugs - Travel Bug Hotel was last. It was very sad...NO BUGS! We let Dorothy go there!! Keep her moving!

A little play time for the kiddos!!!

First we stopped at Williams CD Cache. You can trade CD or DVDs, but we didn't have one, so we dropped off our Gieco travel bug! Ryan also wanted his picture made by the corn!

Williams CD Cache
Next we went to Devil's Prop. I had never been there before!

We got two caches there and have lots of fun!!!! We were going up the hill and I lost my shoe....TWICE! It is really pretty out there. I can't believe that I had never been there before!! Doug found both of these!

Pinocchio and The Devil's Front Door

Then we stopped at Tweedy Bird! I loved it!! I love the little nest!! So cute!

Then we kept driving to Tic, Tac, Toe, 4 In A Row! I did this one by myself! The boy stayed in the car! It was a quick find after the walk! There is was just laying there!!! SCORE!

Last, but not least, was Kitty's Coin Stash!
This was our SECOND trip!! I totally would not have found it. I would still be in the woods looking! Dougie found it too!! I did find this great mushroom thingy though!!!! THANKS DOUGIE! :)
